Projects and Homework

  • All work must have a complete heading (name, date, period, and title) to receive credit.
  • Late work will automatically lose 20% from the total grade.
  • If you are missing work, you will not be allowed extra credit, or to participate in F.A.C.E. Fridays.
  • All final drafts for essays MUST be typed and double-spaced or they will NOT be accepted.
  • Have your journal with you every day for bell work!
  • If you do not have homework, any excuses must be original and entertaining.  "My dog ate it," is old and cliche and will not be accepted.  However, saying your homework was used by MacGuyver to stop a nuclear warhead may diffuse my ire and displeasure.
Tests
  • We Will have tests every Friday.  Be ready.
  • You may ALWAYS use your notes for the test.  Take good notes during the week and you will do well on the tests!
  • You may not talk for any reason to anybody except myself or another teacher during the test.  Doing so results in your test being taken.
  • You must have your name on your test to get credit!
  • You may not use your test as kindling to start a fire and communicate via smoke signals.

Class Behavior and Guidelines

  • Line up everyday outside the door before entering the class.
  • Come in silently or I will make you try again!  Even if it's snowing or raining or there are cyborg velociraptors outside with laser eyes, rocket legs, and a taste for teenagers!
  • Just like RULE #2 says, you will be respectful; not only to me, but your classmates and all staff at MWMS.
  • Racism and hate speech are absolutely NOT TOLERATED in my class.  Do not test me on this.
  • Don't break my desks.  Seriously.  They seem sturdy, I know, but if a bunch of big burly 8th graders sit on them everyday, they'll eventually snap.
  • If I'm up at the board giving instructions or a lesson, you MUST be silent and pay attention.  You may talk during group or partner work, or if I otherwise say that you can.
  • Treat my classroom and my materials (as well as those of other teachers) with respect and care.
  • Do not wipe your boogers under the desk.  Only I may do that.
